7 Incredible Things To Do In Coron, Philippines

If visiting Coron in the Philippines has always been on your bucketlist then look no further than this guide to these 7 Incredible Things To Do In Coron, Philippines.

Planning a visit to this remote little town can be somewhat challenging with the numerous tours and things to do on offer.

We spent 3 months in the Philippines and will give you all the insights and tips you need to make your visit to Coron the best ever. Don’t be suprised if the majority of things to do in Coron are tours as this is the way to travel in the Philippines.

1. Visit The Mesmerizing Cliffs Of Twin Lagoon

Twin Lagoon

The stunning limestone cliffs of Twin Lagoon – Philippines

If you ever googled something about the Philippines then it is quite likely that you stumbled upon an image showing the towering cliffs of Twin Lagoon.

Twin Lagoon is one of the best attractions to visit in the world and therefore, it must be on your list of things to do in Coron Palawan.

When you first arrive you will be blown away by the magical limestone cliffs and the turquoise blue water that you will find inside the lagoon.

To fully experience the best side of Twin Lagoon, we recommend hopping on of the private tours below. Tell your guide to visit this spot for sunrise to beat the tourist crowds that arrive later in the day.

2. Swim In Barracuda Lake

Barracuda Lake

Swim in one of the clearest lakes on earth

If swimming in one of the clearest and most amazing lakes in the world has always been on your bucketlist then hear us out: Barracuda Lake will exceed your expectations and make your friends hit that like button on instagram like never before.

Barracuda Lake is hidden and can only be accessed with a guide. We went here early morning on our private boat tour and only saw a handful of people.

We would recommend to bring fins, mask, snorkel and order an underwater split housing + GoPro on Amazon beforehand to get those stunning instagram split shots. It is one of the best investments you can make for the Philippines.

Barracuda lake is perfect for freedivers as you can reach the bottom very easily if you are skilled enough. If you are not confident enough it is still 100% worth it to go without being a freediver.

3. Sail To The Famous Pass Island Palmtree

Pass Island

You always wanted to visit a sand island with just one palmtree on it? Well, then Pass Island might just be the right fit for you.

To be honest: there are more palmtrees on the island but a photo taken from the right perspective will definitely make it look like one lonely palmtree.

The sand is soft and white and the water has this vibrant turquoise color. Perfect for a quick dip if you ask us!

The only way to get here is with a tour called “Reef and Wrecks Tour” which is so affordable anyways:

4. Explore The White Beach Of Malcapuya Island

Malcapuya Island

One of the most underrated places on our list of the 7 Incredible Things To Do In Coron, Philippines that you can visit is Malcapuya Island.

When we arrived with our boat on the other side of the island, the water was brown and unpleasant. We already thought abut asking the captain to turn around.

He told us to hold on and hike over to the other side of the bay. When our eyes caught the first glimpse of this paradise beach we were loosing our minds.

We didn’t expect to find the whitest sand and clearest water we have ever seen in Coron. Strangely enough this place was not promoted as agressively as the sights very near to Coron but we are so glad we visited.

To access Malcapuya Island you, just like most places in the Philippines, have to book a tour called “Island Escapade Tour” beforehand. You can decide if you would like to book a private tour but we joined a tour and loved it!

5. Walk On The Sand Bar Of Bulog Dos Island (Malacory Island)

Bulog Dos Island

Bulog Dos Island (also known as Malacory Island) is likely the most unknown place on our list of the 7 Incredible Things To Do In Coron, Philippines. Lucky for you, that we have visited this place and can comfortably say it feels like you are in the Maldives.

The water is crystal clear and the sand is white and soft. There are 2-3 shacks that are sometimes attended where you can buy snacks and drinks.

Walking on the natural sand bar and relaxing in the shallow turquoise water has to be on your Coron bucketlist!

This spot is also part of the “Island Escapade Tour” just like Malcapuya Island. Nonetheless, this tour is so worth it as you will visit the most incredible beaches which in other countries like the Maldives would cost you a fortune.

6. Experience Kayangan Lake near Coron

Kayangan Lake

The experience that you probably anticipated the most on our list of the 7 Incredible Things To Do In Coron, Philippines is Kayangan Lake located only a short boat ride from Coron. Unlike Malcapuya Island which is a 2 hour boatride, Kayangan Lake can be reached in 10 mins from the port.

You can swim in the stunning lake and take photos at the very famous viewpoint. The colors around the lake and the limestone cliffs are something every traveler should see at least once in their life.

To get to this sight, you will have to either join the “Tour A” or “Super Ultimate Tour” in Coron. We visited Barracuda Lake, Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon on a joined tour (multiple random people) and on a private tour. We loved the private tour so much more as we set off on our journey for sunrise and literally had no people anywhere compared to thousands of people on the joined tour.

7. Relax on Smith Point Beach

If you thought you have seen it all then you haven’t been to Smith Point Beach in Coron Palawan, because it is likely one of the most unique beaches we have ever been to!

We went here in the middle of the day and as you can see on the picture there were already a few boats here. We passed by later that day and literally no one was there.

If you want to feel like you are on a different planet having incredibly clear water, a white beach and towering limestone cliffs will defintely give you that feeling!

This spot only can be accessed via boat on the “Super Ultimate Tour” in Coron and you have to tell your boat driver to stop there because otherwise he will just pass by.

100% worth it for at least 1-2 hours of relaxing time.
